The specifics for this trip, plus the things every traveler asks before coming to Colombia.
About Colombia(same for every trip)
Travelers from the US, Canada, UK, EU and most of Latin America don't need a visa for stays up to 90 days. You'll get a stamp on arrival. We confirm specifics for your passport before booking.
The destinations we work with (Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena, the coffee region, Caribbean coast) are well-traveled and safe with normal precautions. We operate with licensed local partners and stay in vetted neighborhoods. Our team is reachable 24/7 during your trip.
The currency is the Colombian peso (COP). Cards work in most restaurants, hotels, and shops in cities; bring cash for small towns and tips. Tipping is appreciated but not mandatory — 10% is standard in restaurants when not already included.
In tourist areas, hotels and our partner network: yes. Outside of that, basic Spanish helps a lot. Every guide we work with is fluent in English, and we're on WhatsApp if anything ever comes up.
No vaccines are required to enter Colombia. Yellow fever is recommended if you'll visit the Amazon or some Caribbean areas. We send a pre-trip briefing with specifics based on your itinerary.
We give you a local SIM (Claro or Movistar) on arrival or you can use an eSIM. Coverage is solid in cities and most tourist destinations. Hotels and most cafés have WiFi included.
It depends on the experience and how close to the date. Each booking comes with its own terms, sent before deposit. As a rule: free changes up to 30 days out, partial refunds after that. Talk to us before anything is locked in.
